The next Tampa General sickle cell meeting is July 23 at 6 p.m. We are fortunate to have the COO (Chief Operating Officer) Denna Nelson, RN, MHA there in attendance. We need to turn out in force. We need to have excellent questions ready to ask. Please arrive on time, and spread the word, as we need a lot of people in attendance. We want them to know we are serious about our illness and want change and are prepared to work for it.

Our new meeting for adults only is located in Tampa General Hospital in room B104 in the cafeteria area. 4th Friday of each month at 6 p.m.

Sickle Cell Adult Retret

There is an adult sickle cell retreat in Tampa Next Month. It is only for adult patients over age 18. It is for patients only.

It is a three day long retreat. The retreat is free, but we ask for a $25.00 deposit to hold your space. Once you appear at the retreat your check is given back to you. We have several speakers on wellness, nutrition, yoga classes, stress management and many other subjects. All food is included. Please come and learn, and spend time with people who understand what you are going through.

Rotary’s Camp Florida
Lakewood Dr 0.7 Miles North
From Interstate 75, take exit Brandon/Hwy 60 exit.
AtthebaseoftheexityouwillbeatHwy60. GoeastonHwy60for1.5milesto Lakewood Drive. There’s a Kmart, a Mobil gas station, and Chrysler dealer.
At the Lakewood and Hwy 60 intersection, turn North on Lakewood for 0.7 mile to Camp Florida Road.
At Lakewood and Camp Florida Road intersection, turn Left (there is no right, only a cow pasture). Drive west on Camp Florida Road for 0.3 mile. Rotary’s Camp Florida is on the left.
Landmark: Camp Florida Road runs parallel with railroad tracks. Also, there is a dead end sign by the Camp Florida Road sign. There is a blue and gold “Rotary’s Camp Florida” sign at the Lakewood and Camp Florida Road junction.
